When I first started my blog someone asked in the comments if I would ever talk about John DiMaggio, so for this week’s Voice over Artist that’s who I am going to be talking about. As a matter of fact John was in a documentary that I talked about a few weeks ago called I know That Voice, where he talks a little about himself and his characters.
John Has a very long list of things he’s been a part of from
television shows, video games, and animated films his catalog starting in 1986
when he was 18 years old up until now at the age of 47 his career has given him
great success.
John DiMaggio is a well-rounded voice actor and comedian who
Is mostly known for his role as Bender from the television show Futurama , and
his role as Jake from Adventure Time. Some other things he has done include
voices in Final Fantasy X, Gears of War, Wreck It Ralph.
The first video clip
I have for you guys today is an interview with John and he explains how he came up with the voice of Bender.
The second clip is a little bit of a longer video but I
thought it was kind of cool; it is just a video montage of some of the
different voices John DiMaggio has played over the years.
I Hope you guys enjoyed this post, What I would like to know
from you guys in the comments below, who are some of your favorite characters
or voice actors.

outside of this blog you can click the links in the sidebar and why not follow
me while you’re there :D
I really enjoy listening to John DiMaggio's work. He's one of the very few people I admire in terms of skill and craft and I really like how he experiments with voices as opposed to doing a sort of cookie-cutter approach. He can really add interesting twists to characters.
ReplyDeleteAlso John was actually one of the directors for "I Know that Voice" and he made the documentary for all his voice acting friends and let people know about what they do and how much fun it is to work with them.
Yea He is very good at what he does and never fails to make a character interesting...majority of the time out of the things I've seen with him his characters are usually my favorite. I think it would be cool to actually hear him speak at a convention, have you ever thought about going to one he's at and possibly trying to meet him??
ReplyDeleteIt's so cool to see how characters develop over the context of a series, but it seems that DiMaggio has been relatively consistent in his work. No wonder he's had such a successful career! Great insight, I really enjoyed this post.
